Get Involved — Volunteer!

When adults volunteer, all students benefit! There are many opportunities for parents and community members to get involved! Your help is needed!

Visit LewisvilleISD.VOLY.org to complete your yearly volunteer application, LISD background check, select the schools where you’d like to volunteer and update your skills. This is required every year if you would like to volunteer on campus.

We currently have one open board position (ACMS/Hebron Liaison) and would love your help and involvement in any of our numerous volunteer opportunities. See below for all the exciting ways we can use your help.

Cafeteria Helpers: Sign-up here to help with Kinder and 1st grade lunch at 10:20-11:30am. Assist students in opening milk, yogurt, etc. Wipe down the tables between Kinder and 1st grade lunches. The kids are so much fun and love when their parents come to lunch! VOLY approval required. LewisvilleISD.VOLY.org

Mustang Marketplace Shopping Day: Mustang Marketplace Shopping Day is the last Monday of school each month! Click this link to donate items. If you would like to volunteer to help in the shop on shopping day, click this link to volunteer for March 25th. Thank you for your help and support! VOLY approval required. LewisvilleISD.VOLY.org

Staff Meeting Snacks: Check back here to sign-up to donate items for the monthly staff meeting. For anyone volunteering to bring supplies, please drop those items off to the PTA Room (#200) by noon on the day of the meeting. Thank you!

Our PTA cannot do what we do without your help!

Ways to help	Description	Date and Time
Kinder and 1st grade Cafeteria Helper	Assist students in opening milk, yogurts, etc. Wipe down the tables between kinder and 1st grade lunches.	2 volunteers needed every school day from 10:30-11:30. Can help one time or multiple times.
Room Parent	Plan class parties, plan grade level staff luncheon, put together class auction basket for family fun night, assist your teacher. Application must be submitted to the PTA	2 volunteers needed for each teacher.
Teacher Helper	Assist your teacher with copying, laminating, cutting, tracing, bulletin boards, Tuesday folders, etc.	Check with your teacher to see how you can help.
Academic Support Volunteer	Tutor small groups in math or reading. Training required	30 minutes once a week or more, based on your schedule.
Snacks for monthly staff meetings	Receive Sign Up Genius for staff meeting snacks. Sign up for an item to bring when you are able.	Monthly
Food for monthly staff luncheons	Each month, a different grade level oversees providing a luncheon to the staff. A Sign Up Genius is sent out for items needed as well as to volunteer for the luncheon.	Monthly
Spirit Wear	Sort and deliver spirit wear to classrooms. Sell spirit wear at various school events.	Monthly
Mustang Marketplace	Collect or donate prizes. Help students cash in tickets for prizes.	Anytime Last Monday of the month.
Homecoming Float Building	Help build Homestead’s float for the Hebron Homecoming parade.	September 24 – 27
Life Touch School Pictures	Help the flow on school picture day.	September 28 November 1 March 7
PTA Membership	4 volunteers needed to help with a grade level membership contest.	September
Book Fair	Help set up, take down, and checkout students during the bookfair.	October 2 – 6 February 20 – 23
Bingo Night	Help at a station during Bingo Night (set-up, check-in, handing out popcorn and pizza, supervising the prize table, clean-up)	October 3 5-8pm
Walk/Bike to School Day	4 volunteers needed to mark participants, hand out prizes, collect posters, and dress up as the Homestead mascot.	October 4
End of 9 weeks Popcorn	Help pop popcorn and deliver to classrooms.	October 6 December 15 March 8 May 17
Field Day	2 adults needed per class to help move students through the stations.	October 20 K-2: 8:45-11:15am 3-5: 12-2:30pm
Red Ribbon Week	Help decorate the school for Red Ribbon Week.	October 23-27
Staff Holiday Cookie Exchange	Bake cookies for the staff holiday cookie exchange. Help set up for the event.	December 13
Family Fun Night and Auction	Gather auction and raffle donations. Decorate the school – hang paper on the hallway walls, blow up balloons, make centerpieces, etc. Theme: Safari! Set up for the event. Kinder Registration	Give tours of the school to new kinder families.	March 27 April 5
Teacher Appreciation Week	Receive Sign Up Genius to provide treats for the teachers and staff.	May 6-10
Talent Show	Help decorate the stage and volunteer backstage during the talent show.	May 16
Splash Day	Help at a station at Splash Day.	May 22
Food for Senior Breakfast	Receive Sign Up Genius for breakfast foods for the Senior breakfast. Help decorate and set up for the event.	May 2024
PTA Board Position	Chair a committee on the PTA Board (Open position: ACMS/Hebron Liaison)	PTA Board Meetings are monthly on Tuesdays from 9-11am.
